Our Complete Detail is what Doctor Detail’s business was built on. This product is more popular with everyday people who care and love their automobile, and want to see their investment last. Many who are getting ready to sell their car or preparing for a lease return also use the Complete Detail product.

Our complete detail is an awesome product. Detailing the engine, interior and exterior with attention to cleaning all areas, but also keeping in mind to not over clean an area that doesn’t need it. Our intention is to preserve your automobile. For example, shampooing carpets that only need a spot clean is not preserving the carpet; it is actually hurting it more. Compounding or polishing too aggressively can harm the clear coat on the paint. Most cars will need attention to all of these areas and Doctor Detail has all of the necessary professional equipment and knowledge to do this. Whether it calls for special tools such as high powered air, steam cleaners, high pressure water, carpet extractors, high speed polishers, ozone machines for deodorizing, Doctor Detail is prepared to clean, polish, protect and most importantly preserve your car to last a lifetime.

The Stages:
Our process begins with a full prep in our wash bay. Without this deep clean prep, a great detail can never be accomplished. I continually remind my employees that once the car is in “Final”, there’s no way to bring it back to prep. We must ensure that enough time and attention is spent in this very important stage of the overall process. The Engine Detail is water-soluble degreased and hand agitated, followed by a pressure wash with hot water. Next we use high-pressure air to dry out all components. All rubber is conditioned again with a diluted water-soluble conditioner. All moving parts are WD-40’d and all painted surfaces polished and wiped-down. The wheels and wheel wells are next. Again, the mildest detergents are used and if the result is not satisfactory, stronger solutions are used. Wheel acids are last resorts, but used often because of the condition many wheels come to us in. Wheel wells are then steamed and scrubbed. In some cases the wheels are removed and a Wheel Well Detail performed. Brake calipers, brake heads as well as inside of the wheels are reconditioned or often painted an improved from factory finish. Next, doorjambs and trunk jambs are degreased and steamed. Later these too will be polished in “Final”. Next, the underside or lower sides of the body are cleaned. This is often where tar and paint will be found sprayed up by the tires from the road. In severe cases more time is needed to remove and is discussed with the customer at time of drop off. The car is to be washed, scrubbed and now ready for an Exterior Detail.

A claying process is first performed. Clay cannot be overused as this can do more damage than good. Fine micro scratches can be etched into the paint and over time the finish may have to be wet-sanded to remove. In our final stage paint process, we will polish by machine standard or dual action with various grades of pads to apply compounds and polishes. The last two steps are completed by hand with a glaze and a Carnauba Wax, but before the last steps of glaze and wax, much work needs to be performed to the interior.

The Interior Detail starts by removing personal belongings and bagging them. We then use high-powered air and vacuum. The interior is cleaned and scrubbed, if necessary. All leather and vinyl is conditioned. The console, vents, gauges and navigation are all detailed. The spare tire is removed, if necessary. Carpets are cleaned with hot steam and extraction. Floor mats are pressure washed and sun dried. Again, depending on the condition is how deep we will clean.

If the car is so bad, we might recommend a Complete Interior Removal and Recondition is recommended when there are terrible odors or too far gone with filth. The seats, consoles, carpets and padding are removed, and in some cases door panels are removed as well. At this point the cleaning process begins. All interior floor boards are washed and deodorized, carpets are pressure washed, extracted and sun dried, seats are shampooed, extracted and sun dried. [NOTE: The sun’s UV rays kills all bacteria] all components scrubbed and cleaned. Padding is replaced and everything is reinstalled like new. All leather and vinyl is cleaned and conditioned, console gauges carefully wiped or polished. [NOTE: Most wood trims can be restored in-house. The more severe jobs can be sent out for restoration. Leather can also be refinished in-house or for repair sent out ] Headliner is wiped clean with a clean damp cloth if necessary. Windows are cleaned including window lips.

The engine is now ready for a final polish and wax of all painted surfaces, and a wipe down of all rubber and plastic. The car is now in for “Final”. All wheels are fully detailed, rubber and weather stripping is conditioned, the paint is hand glazed and removed, exterior windows are cleaned and lastly, the car is Carnauba waxed. Believe it or not much more is done in this process, but you get the idea. It’s a Complete Detail, not a glorified wash.
