Doctor Detail Restoration and Refinishing Services
Wheel Well Restoration or Restoration is just as unique and is often done without undercarriage for new style modern classics.
Wheel well restoration is always included with vintage cars when performing undercarriage restoration because they go hand in hand.
The wheel well reconditioning service entails removing the wheels and thoroughly cleaning the wells of the car and inside of wheels, back to original finish if possible. If this is not possible, we take it to the next level, which is restoration. This next level consists of scraping, cleaning and sanding to bare metal and then applying the appropriate finish, whether it be a satin black, hard shell undercoat or painted over undercoat to match factory paint finish. It is also an option to have the suspension, brake calipers and brake heads refinished, including all hoses, horns, brackets etc. that are exposed inside of the wells.
Paint refinishing and minor bodywork is also an important service at Doctor Detail. Not a week goes by that we are not refinishing bumpers, painting fenders, hoods or doors, often part of a Complete Detail. Other services that can be performed at the same time are re-dying seats, door panels or removing small dents and door dings, replacing or repairing windshields, ordering and installing broken parts is all part of Detailing and Reconditioning.
Complete Interior Removal and Recondition is recommended when there are terrible odors or too far gone with filth. The seats, consoles, carpets and padding are removed, and in some cases door panels are removed as well. At this point the cleaning process begins. All interior floor boards are washed and deodorized, carpets are pressure washed, extracted and sun dried, seats are shampooed, extracted and sun dried. [NOTE: The sun’s UV rays kills all bacteria] all components scrubbed and cleaned. Padding is replaced and everything is reinstalled like new. All leather and vinyl is cleaned and conditioned, console gauges carefully wiped or polished. [NOTE: Most wood trims can be restored in-house. The more severe jobs can be sent out for restoration. Leather can also be refinished in-house or for repair sent out] Headliner is wiped clean with a clean damp cloth if necessary. Windows are cleaned including window lips.
